Petra’s Ghost by C.S. O’Cinneide

The story centers around a man named Daniel, an Irishman who travels to Spain on a pilgrimage carrying his wife Petra’s ashes along with a secret on the circumstances that led to her death. He traverses the Camino de Santiago, the ancient 500 mile pilgrimage in northern Spain where a woman has recently vanished. He teams up with an American girl named Ginny and they are stalked by a mysterious figure leading to unexpected twists and turns and lines between reality and madness becomes blurred.

A soldier is reprimanded by his Commanding Officer for reporting for duty wearing a dirty uniform. His sergeant puts him on a charge. Although he later explains that the mark on his uniform is blood coming from from a wound, the officer does not believe him, insisting it is a stain. The man uses the comparison to talk about the war and the final inspection of all the dead by the Almighty God whom he regards as a General.

Cardinal Black by Robert R. McCammon

The story centers on Matthew Corbett, considered a professional “problem solver” along the line of Sherlock Holmes and James Bond of the 18th century. Corbett is on the trail of a man named Cardinal Black who possess a potion book stolen from a village which is the key to helping a girl who is a victim of the drug experiments of Professor Fell. Cardinal Black plans to sell the potion book at an auction and it is up to Corbett to get it back by any means necessary.

Will Haunt You by Brian Kirk

The main protagonist of the story is rock musician Jesse Wheeler of The Rising Dead. He is contending with an urban legend of a deadly book connected to a mysterious figure who preys on those who read it, terrorizing them. Now it is Jesse’s turn to be the target of this figure that threaten to bring back the ghosts of his past and he must find a way to defeat it before it kills him.

Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson

A book like a horror movie, Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson is about a Neurosurgeon Jake Breaker who is a member of the Saturday Night Ghost Club ever since he was a youngster, a seemingly light-hearted project to investigate some of Cataract City’s more macabre urban myths. He was invited to join the club by his eccentric uncle Calvin who is very interested in the occult. Over the course of that life-altering summer, Jake not only fell in love and began to see into his future, he slowly and painfully came to realize that his uncle’s flirtation with chilling legends stemmed from something buried so deep in his past that Calvin himself does not know it.
